Denise Bisland, CHRP
Denise Bilsland is an experienced Human Resources leader and organizational development consultant. She has worked as an OD and Leadership consultant for over ten years, supporting organizations with their strategic HR initiatives and leadership development programs.
Denise strives to enrich team potential and organizational performance at a strategic level. She has conducted a range of organizational assessments to identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness through organizational design and learning. She has delivered numerous training and development programs in the areas of communications, goal setting, leadership and performance management. Her broader HR expertise in employee engagement, performance management, recruitment and total rewards contribute to well-rounded strategies for building performance capacity within teams. She acts as confidential advisor and coach to support business leaders in getting the best from their teams and to support senior leadership with career management strategies.
A strong business background helps to facilitate strategic planning, change and growth with clients, particularly when they are transitioning in leadership roles or implementing change. She builds practical, best practice approaches and works with her clients to ensure they achieve targeted results, using an outcomes-based model.
Denise has spent a large amount of time in growing sectors including technology, manufacturing, engineering and healthcare. She has worked with clients in Government (YRRTC, City of Mississauga), Health Care (major hospitals, mental health, pharma), Education (colleges, university and private schools), Mental health and Police Services, in addition to many private sector companies in the engineering, technology, manufacturing and retail sectors. She has experience as an instructor for the HR program at Seneca College. Prior to becoming a consultant and coach, Denise led HR teams in a range of industries, previously as VP of HR for Triversity/SAP, Director of HR for National Sports/Canadian Tire and prior to that, HR leadership roles with Nortel.
Denise is a Certified Senior Human Resources Professional (CHRP/CHRE) through the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario and has her Leadership Coaching certification from Hogan and the Institute of Social & Emotional Intelligence (ISEI). She graduated from Western University. She is currently on the Board for 360Kids in York Region and previously served as President of the Board of the York Region Children’s Aid Society.
